This workshop is presented by Personal Safety & Education Development:

How do we keep our children academically engaged over the summer and prepared for the upcoming school year—without parents or students burning out? This interactive workshop answers this question and gives parents three essential strategies: Time management, Goal Setting, and Motivation. These three keys along with case studies and activities will give parents the confidence to implement the strategies learned to keep their children academically engaged.

Specialized Education & Job Training

Queens Public Library is offering specialized career training programs. Improve your English for the workplace, get your high school equivalency diploma, or receive certifications to get a new, better job. These opportunities are offered virtually and in-person.

Learn English while acquiring job training for in demand opportunities such as:  

  • Computer Support Specialist
  • Home Health Aide
  • Childcare Professional 

The programs will give you the skills you need to make a transition to a new career. To be eligible for this program, you must: 

  • Be 18 or older
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
  • Speak a language other than English
  • Not have a U.S. High School Diploma or College Degree

Registration for spring training will be available through April 15.
