Lunar New Year Activities

Join MOCA as they usher in the Year of the Tiger with over a week of free virtual festivities for the whole family from Friday, Feb. 4 through Friday, Feb. 11.

  • Friday, 2/4 – Learn more about the third Zodiac animal, tiger fun facts, and how to fold your very own origami tiger face.
  • Monday, 2/7 – Learn how to fold and cut a wriggly paper fish to usher in a year of plenty.
  • Tuesday, 2/8 – Learn how to make your own new year dumplings and see how much luck you can ring in for the new year! Register for the dumpling making workshop.
  • Wednesday, 2/9 – Learn about ribbon dancing. Register for the ribbon dance workshop.
  • Thursday, 2/10 – Eugenia Chu will read aloud from her book, Brandon Makes Jiǎo Zi (餃子). Register for the author meet & greet.
  • Friday, 2/11 – Create your very own lion costume from a large paper bag, colored paper, cupcake liners, and tape or glue.
