Superintendent Chan’s Letter to the PS7 School Community

August 31, 2021

Dear PS 7 School Community,

I hope this letter finds everyone well and enjoying a safe and memorable end of summer! I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon for a hopeful start to the 2021-2022 school year.

I want to share some news regarding a leadership transition in your school community.

Over the years, I have deeply respected and admired the work of Dr. Landau. She has been a member of my leadership succession plan and this summer an opportunity availed for her to become a principal in District 24.

I know Dr. Landau has been a very important part of your school community. I also know that you wish her the very best in all of her professional endeavors.

Beginning Thursday, September 2, 2021, Dr. Landau will be the interim acting principal of 24Q331, a new cluster of early childhood sites in District 24.

Please help me in wishing Dr. Landau the very best and thanking her for many years of exemplary leadership at PS 7.

If you have any questions regarding this announcement, or queries regarding other topics, please feel free to reach out to me at or 718 592-3357.

Please stay safe, be well and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Madelene Chan

Community Superintendent
